Supramolecular aggregation patterns featuring Se?N secondary-bonding interactions in mono-nuclear selenium compounds: A comparison with their congeners

چکیده

• Selenium?nitrogen secondary-bonding is important in relevant crystal structures. Isolated Se?N interactions are found 9% of crystals containing Se and N. Se?N(selenadiazole) occur 75% where they can form. Zero-, one-, two- three-dimensional architectures feature interactions. One-dimensional chains 45% examples. An evaluation the Cambridge Structural Database for secondary--bonding was conducted. The presence has been established nearly mono-nuclear selenium compounds such potentially form, that is, having at least one nitrogen atom. 71 zero-dimensional, usually di-nuclear aggregates, 63 one-dimensional tapes, smaller numbers arrays, seven one, respectively. Selenium enrichment of broccoli: interactions between selenium and secondary plant compounds.

Multiple components of broccoli, such as sulforaphane (Sf) and phenolic acids, may inhibit cancer. Additionally, broccoli can accumulate selenium (Se), and Se has been demonstrated to reduce the risk of cancer. Studies were conducted to determine whether enhancement of broccoli with Se would produce a plant with superior health benefits. Although increasing the concentration of Se in broccoli f...

Secondary Bonding Interactions in Some Dichloroanilinium Chlorides

Of the six structures presented here, five involve clearly defined hydrophilic layers built up from classical hydrogen bonding systems. Of three solvent-free structures, 2,4and 3,5-dichloroanilinium chlorides both form ribbon structures involving annelated R4(8) rings with NH2 donors (two hydrogen atoms from the positively charged NH3 groups) and chloride acceptors. The ribbons are linked by we...

Secondary Bonding Interactions in Some Haloanilinium Halides

The crystal packing in the structures of various solvent-free (mono)haloanilinium halides involves with one exception the formation of approximately planar hydrophilic regions that contain classical hydrogen bonds N-HþþþX (X = halogen). Common to the substructures of all layers are rings of general graph set Rn2n(4n), involving equal numbers of chloride acceptors and NH2 moieties (two hydrogen ...

Plant Secondary Compounds; Their

Both the anti-nutritional and beneficial effects of secondary compounds in a range of temperate and tropical forages have been reviewed. Major secondary compounds in temperate and tropical forage plants occur in the phenolic fraction and include condensed and hydrolysable tannins, phenolic monomers and lignin. Condensed tannins (CT) bind to plant protein by pH-reversible hydrogen bonding. In te...

A Comparison of Platelet Aggregation Produced by Seven Compounds and a Comparison of Their Inhibitors.

The aggregating effects of adenosine diphosphate, thrombin, 5-hydroxytryptamine, tryptamine, adrenaline and noradrenaline, and tri-ethyl tin have been carefully compared. The first three compounds in some circumstances produce remarkably similar effects although there are important differences. The kinetics of aggregation induced by adrenaline (and noradrenaline) are quite different and the tri...
